camping was excellent. it rained a lot but that actually made it less boring. canyon vista is a very nice campground except for the perpetual cattle guard sounds coming from the road. i really enjoyed the little canyon that was by the campgrounds. we played games & cooked & hiked. it was nice.
i wish we could have ridden the chair lift but that's okay we can take a day trip for that any other time. the cave was fun enough for me anyhow. and the weirdest thing happened there which sarah talked about a little in her journal but i will elaborate. so we get down into the opening of the cave and there's this group of like four very random & unprofessional looking people just standing around. one of the them has a thick packet of paper (which i'm assuming to be some kind of script) and she talks to us in a thick italianish accent. she begins to manipulatively ask us for one of our flashlights to use for her movie. we were caught off guard & quite speechless & confused as the group of people began to decide which one of our lights would work best for their purpose. she offered sarah $20 for her lantern & told her they would put her in the credits as an extra of their big film starring christopher walken & jason alexander. sarah decided against it & the woman asked us if any one else would like to sell their flashlights to her. we said we needed them all & pressed on down the cave. i thought i was on some kind of strange hidden camera show. when we finished with the cave & were heading out in the parking lot the aledged film makers were huddled around a jeep & one of them was had really bad red make up smeared on his face & hands. it was just too bizzare.
it's good to be home. i feel very relaxed and, after i've showered, refreshed from the trip. it was very nice.
